About the RoleWe are seeking a passionate and organized Director of Events to lead programming and production for IMPULSE\'s growing portfolio of events. This is a part-time, freelance position with hybrid flexibility, ideal for someone deeply embedded in the New York arts scene who thrives in a collaborative, community-driven environment.The Director of Events plays a central role in shaping how IMPULSE engages its audience, overseeing programs ranging from intimate roundtable discussions in gallery spaces to cocktail parties and benefit exhibitions.Responsibilities include:Leading the IMPULSE Forum, a participatory, roundtable-style discussion hosted in partner galleries throughout New York City. Each Forum brings together artists, writers, and thinkers for an intimate two-hour conversation (Monthly on Tuesdays, 6–8 PM).Coordinating with host galleries to secure venues and manage logistics for each ForumCollaborating with the guest moderator to develop a tailored discussion guide, including curated reference texts and thoughtful discussion questionsAssisting the moderator in facilitating and guiding the discussion on the night of the eventManaging RSVPs, guest communications, and event-night operationsHappy hour programming at local partner bar: casual networking events designed to build and sustain the arts communityLarge-scale events such as cocktail parties (up to 200 guests), benefit exhibitions, and other magazine milestonesIdentifying new event partnerships and venue opportunities aligned with IMPULSE\'s brandWorking closely with the Creative Director, the Events Director plays an active role in the promotional lifecycle of each event:Assisting in the development of social media campaigns to promote upcoming eventsCreating and managing event listings and ticketing via EventbriteBuilding and distributing event announcements and newsletters via Mailchimp
