Gallery seeks a dedicated, experienced individual to work alongside senior staff in all aspects of day-to-day operations. In addition to poise and professional demeanor, the position requires strong speaking and writing skills, an informed familiarity with the art world, and the ability to work effectively and independently in a demanding fast paced environment. Successful candidates are highly motivated, capable and prepared to handle whatever tasks are put before them. Expert ability to discern, manage, and execute these and other tasks contributes to the intense and supportive one-on-one relationship expected between the assistant and the director. Frequently acting as point of contact for gallery artists, collectors and all ranges of art world professionals, the highest standards of administrative support are expected without exception. Candidates should have a minimum of two years full-time gallery, or comparable art world experience. Prior experience assisting a gallery director or similar executive is preferred, as this is not an entry-level position. Extensive familiarity with Artbase, ArtLogic, or similar art database programs is required.
