The Young Learners division of the Department of Learning and Engagement at The Museum of Modern Art supports the Museum’s founding educational mission to ensure that people of all ages and abilities “enjoy, understand and use” the art of our time in ways that add value to their lives. At MoMA, we view modern and contemporary art as sources of civic, historical, and emotional inquiry. We believe that when young people integrate the arts into their understanding of self and society, they become empowered contributors to their communities—individuals who recognize the arts as essential to a healthy, dynamic, and just world. Programs offered by the department range from artist-driven activations to classes, online courses, facilitated gallery explorations, workshops, publications and more.Position summary:The Young Learners division is seeking contractual teaching artists to design and lead inquiry-based art discussions and art-making workshops for audiences ranging from Pre-K through 12th grade, as well as teachers and teens.
