ABOUT THE ROLECreative Time, New York City’s veteran and vanguard public arts presenter, is looking for a Development Manager who wants to join a team forging a bold new path for the organization, building upon a 50-year legacy of expansive, imaginative, and groundbreaking projects for the public. You must be a self-directed go-getter with an eye for details, a love for building out efficient systems, and experience with foundation and government fundraising. Individual and corporate fundraising experience is a plus.The Development Manager must be able to pivot between writing compelling grant materials, Salesforce data entry, building out new systems and procedures, keeping track of details, and working with other members of the Development team as well as across departments. The Development Manager is an arts lover and creative writer, a great organizer and time manager, and an experienced fundraising professional with a commitment to continual funding partnerships. Key measurements for success in this position include: timely and accurate donor feedback and ongoing cultivation specifically in regard to foundations and government; Salesforce management; building out efficient systems and procedures; and effective collaboration with all internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the arts and Creative Time’s mission and have demonstrated success in organizational and philanthropic support in a competitive environment.RESPONSIBILITIESWrite proposals and reports to foundations, appeal letters, and other fundraising materialsResearch individual, foundation, government, and corporate donor prospectsProcess donations, including updating Salesforce database and Excel spreadsheets, writing thank you notes, and liaising with finance departmentProject manage all aspects of Salesforce and help think through best practices Assist with board meetings, such as prep and minutes Handle many administrative tasks such as scheduling and filing, and help the Development department create and implement efficient systemsAssist with donor events and the public art projects that are at the core of our mission, including scheduling meetings, keeping track of details, and providing project management and coordination on the day of executionWith support from all departments, execute direct mail, email, and social media appeals, as well as other cultivation and fundraising effortsWork with our Head of Development to execute an annual donor engagement calendar that includes artist and activist talks, gallery walks, museum visits, happy hours, trips, and other events designed to build community among Creative Time’s supportersOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTSHighly organized, detail oriented, independent, strategic, and a self-starter with a sense of humorStrong interest in contemporary art as well as public and urban issues in New York CityA minimum of two years of foundation and government fundraising and grant writing experience; individual and corporate fundraising experience is a plusSpecial events experience is a plus Excellent oral and written communication skills Comprehensive knowledge of Salesforce is a must, with the ability to create new systems and train team members Knowledge of professional standards and legal parameters regarding fundraising activitiesThis hybrid position works Monday through Friday, 10AM-6PM, with the ability to work from home on Mondays and Fridays. Tuesdays through Thursdays are in-office days at our downtown Manhattan office. This position requires the ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends to attend fundraising events.
