The gallery is currently seeking a highly professional and reliable person for a fall internship position starting immediately. Requirements: A strong work ethic combined with a friendly and professional manner.Proactive self-starter with a willingness to undertake tasks both large and small.Detail-oriented and able to follow procedures accurately.Studio art and/or art history background required.Fluency in Mac platform with MS Office and Photoshop. Knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator and gallery inventory software is a plus (ArtBase & FileMakerPro). Duties:Assist in both physical and digital inventory management and organization.Assist in preparation and installation of new exhibitions.Assist in gallery social media and website content production.Assist in general gallery operations. 2 days per weekPosition available immediately Our internship will provide the opportunity to gain hands on experience and in-depth knowledge of the daily workings of a contemporary gallery. The gallery intern will work alongside the entire gallery team, including the Gallery Assistant, Preparator, Registrar, and Associate Directors. Our internship program allows for active participation in the operations of the gallery, as well as individualized project work that will provide learning opportunities for gallery interns interested in developing their skillsets. Founded in 1995, Yancey Richardson represents artists working in photography, film, and lens-based media. The gallery is committed to working with museums, private institutions, leading art collectors, and other galleries to advance the careers of the artists we represent. Our current program includes emerging photographers as well as critically recognized, mid-career artists such as Mitch Epstein, Ori Gersht, Anthony Hernandez, Laura Letinsky, Andrew Moore, Zanele Muholi, Mickalene Thomas and Hellen van Meene. Additionally, the gallery has presented exhibitions of historically significant figures such as Lewis Baltz, William Eggleston, Ed Ruscha, August Sander, and Larry Sultan.
