Miguel Abreu Gallery has an internship position available starting immediately.Candidates should be highly-motivated, detail-oriented, and have strong communication and writing skills. Knowledge of art history and critical theory is expected. Current students or graduates of an art history program and individuals with comparable gallery or art institution experience are favored. Applicants should be highly proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp and InDesign, and these skills will be further sharpened over the course of the internship. Fluency in English is required; Mandarin Chinese, French, or Spanish would be additionally helpful.Working under the supervision of the gallery\'s senior staff, individuals will have the opportunity to participate in a range of projects including general administration, exhibition and art fair planning, digital and archival assignments, and visitor engagement; as well as preparation of publications and events through our imprint, Sequence Press. This is an ideal context to learn about gallery operations and the international art market. The position provides unique exposure to contemporary art and the intellectual environment that underlies it.Interns will receive $16.50/hour as compensation, and be expected to work a minimum of 3 days a week for a period of 3 months, which may include Saturdays. Academic credit is offered.
