DOYLE has built a reputation for achieving outstanding prices at auction, and our focus on individual attention to our clients remains paramount.About the Position: DOYLE is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Marketing to lead integrated marketing efforts that drive both seller engagement and buyer acquisition across our fine art, jewelry, decorative arts, books, coins, and specialty sales categories. This role will oversee a small but high-performing team to deliver marketing programs that support 80+ auctions per year while advancing DOYLE’s position as the leader in the accessible middle market.The position will work closely with DOYLE’s network of regional representatives and category Specialists to support consignment acquisition, sales enablement, and category-specific marketing. This role will also partner cross-functionally and with senior leadership to align marketing initiatives with organizational priorities. In addition, the Director will manage marketing for a developing retail/buy-it-now business line, requiring experience in retail strategy and execution.The ideal candidate is a player/coach who is able to lead with vision while rolling up their sleeves to execute and deliver on deadlines. They must be adaptable, able to ramp quickly, and skilled at navigating complex projects with many moving parts.Responsibilities include: Brand Strategy & DevelopmentLead brand positioning to expand DOYLE’s reach to new audiences while maintaining loyalty among established clientele.Identify and cultivate strategic collaborators and partners that enhance brand exposure, ensuring all partnerships align with DOYLE’s goals and brand standards.Direct creative development and production quality, ensuring consistent brand application across all channels.Seller Engagement & Sales EnablementPartner with regional representatives and Specialists to develop and execute marketing strategies that drive qualified consignment leads and opportunities.Engage with the Trusts & Estates community to foster relationships, encourage ongoing estate pipeline maintenance, and position DOYLE as a trusted resource for estate settlement needs.Write and manage proposals for prospective business, with a primary focus on Trusts & Estates opportunities, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with client objectives.Support sales enablement initiatives, including presentations, property tours across regions, and local advertising, to strengthen DOYLE’s presence in key markets.Auction & Buyer MarketingDevelop integrated marketing plans to maximize bidder participation and sales performance across 80+ auctions annually.Oversee category-specific marketing campaigns in collaboration with Specialists.Digital Marketing & Paid MediaManage paid media initiatives in partnership with an external agency, including auction-specific, consignment, and evergreen brand campaigns.Work with Business Operations to develop targeted audiences for paid media and email campaigns based on past buying behavior.Website & Content ManagementOversee website updates, auction landing pages, and editorial content to ensure accuracy, brand alignment, and search visibility.Lead high-level social media strategy to drive brand awareness and engagement.Email MarketingOversee email campaign and retention strategy, creative direction, and execution.Retail MarketingManage marketing strategy for DOYLE’s developing retail/buy-it-now program, including product launches, promotions, and audience development.Team LeadershipLead, mentor, and grow a lean but high-performing team of marketers.Oversee budget planning and KPI tracking to ensure marketing investments align with business objectives.Model a proactive, deadline-driven work ethic while fostering collaboration and adaptability.Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field8–10 years of marketing experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing teamsProven track record in brand strategy, paid media, communications, social media, email marketing, and content developmentExperience managing agency relationships and guiding integrated campaign executionStrong understanding of sales enablement, consignment acquisition, and buyer engagement strategiesProficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and Mailchimp (or comparable ESP)Experience in the auction business, art world, luxury goods, or retail sectors strongly preferredExceptional communication skills and ability to navigate diverse stakeholder groupsFlexible, adaptable, and comfortable shifting priorities in a fast-paced environmentPassion for the arts and willingness to work occasional evenings/weekends (weekends approximately 1–2x per quarter)
