Greene Naftali seeks a dynamic, highly organized, and self-motivated candidate to join the gallery as an Artist Liaison. This is a pivotal role within the gallery, encompassing a wide range of responsibilities that support both the day-to-day operations of the gallery and the long-term development of artist relationships and projects. The Artist Liaison will work closely with Directors, artists, institutions, and colleagues across departments, while developing an in-depth understanding of the gallery’s program, history, and ongoing initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong interest in contemporary art; excellent organizational, writing, and communication skills; and the ability to manage multiple projects with precision and discretion in a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesServe, under the supervision of the Directors, as liaison for a small selection of gallery artistsProvide support to artists for gallery and outside exhibitions, including research; managing production; facilitating paperwork and logistics; communicating with other galleries, institutions, curators, and collectors; arranging professional photography; and coordinating openings and dinnersOversee press and exhibition requestsMaintain schedules and records related to artists’ exhibitions, lectures, screenings, and public presentationsCoordinate marketing and social media materialsCollaborate with the gallery Archivist to maintain and update artists’ public-facing web pages and archivesUpdate and maintain artist biographies, CVs, bibliographies, exhibition histories, and research materialsMaintain accurate artist inventories and recordsResearch and document artwork provenance, literature, and exhibition histories, ensuring records remain current and comprehensiveCollaborate with registrars to coordinate consignments, loans, and inventory documentationPrepare research materials and presentations on artists and artworks for staff, collectors, and curatorsAssist with sales by preparing client and curatorial materials and PDFsSupport the development and production of artist publications and printed materialsProvide daily administrative support to artists, including studio logistics, travel arrangements, maintaining curator, collector, and contact lists, and preparing sales presentation emailsOrganize conservation work, production, framing, and cratingOversee archive management, including assisting with installation manuals and storageQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Art History or related field required; Master’s degree preferredDemonstrated interest in and knowledge of contemporary art, with familiarity with the gallery’s programExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong interest in writing and researchProficiency in Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with inventory software such as ArtlogicEagerness to take initiative and responsibility for independent tasksAbility to interact comfortably and professionally with artists, collectors, curators, and the publicSalary commensurate with experience
