Students at OMP participate in extensive performance-based programming on full scholarship.Position: Program ManagerReports to: Executive DirectorLocation: Hybrid (East Harlem & Brooklyn, with remote flexibility)Position SummaryOMP is seeking a highly organized and mission-driven Program Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our performance program, serving 75 students and 15 faculty on strings and piano participating in private lessons, orchestra, music theory, composition, choir, chamber music, and piano seminar. The Program Manager serves as a key liaison between families, faculty, and the broader administrative team—ensuring the smooth execution of programming and fostering a welcoming, inclusive community environment.This role is instrumental in maintaining program integrity, coordinating logistics, and supporting students, families, and teachers. The Program Manager will collaborate with the Program Coordinator and work closely with the Executive Director to help shape and support the program’s execution and goals.Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Operations & OversightManage and implement weekly programming for 75 students in collaboration with OMP staff and faculty.Oversee weekly Saturday rehearsals in East Harlem, conducting observations and providing on-site support to students, families, and faculty.Maintain a structured, welcoming environment in shared community spaces.Maintain and update program data, enrollment records, and attendance tracking in collaboration with the Program CoordinatorFamily & Faculty EngagementServe as the primary point of contact for families, ensuring effective communication and responsive support.Schedule and hold family meetings related to student attendance and participation.Draft and distribute family communications, including weekly emails during the program season and bi-weekly updates during the summer via Mail Meteor.Build meaningful relationships with students, parents, and teachers.Events & LogisticsLead the planning and execution of all student program events, including but not limited to, recitals, concerts, and masterclasses.Coordinate schedules and logistics for additional programming tied to strategic partnerships.Team CollaborationCollaborate with the Program Coordinator and ensure alignment with OMP’s operational goals.Attend weekly staff meetings in person and contribute to ongoing program development.Additional ResponsibilitiesPerform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or administrative team that align with the scope of this position.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree.Strong alignment with OMP’s mission and values.1-3 years experience in a program or operations management role, with demonstrated ability to navigate multiple priorities independentlyProficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Spreadsheets, Drive)Experience with email marketing platforms such as Mail Meteor or similar platforms (e.g. Mailchimp)Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.Creative problem-solver who is highly organized, exercises sound judgment, maintains strong attention to detail, and navigates conflict effectively.Experience with educational assessment and outcome tracking.Knowledge of and passion for classical music, music theory, instruments, and other musical genres.Experience working with diverse student populations and an understanding of equity in education.Professional background in music (performance, teaching, or industry-related).Preferred QualificationsBackground in strings or piano.Familiarity with music education methodologies (e.g., Orff, Kodály, Suzuki) and understanding of varied learning styles and instructional approaches..Fluency in Spanish.Experience in family engagement and community-building strategies.Work Schedule & LocationThis is a hybrid position with a combination of on-site and remote responsibilities.On-site Requirements:Saturday program support in East Harlem (approx. 9:00 AM–4:30 PM) from late September through late May.Weekly Thursday staff meetings at The Montauk Club in Brooklyn.Supervise four Sunday recital days annually.Participation in the Winter Concert (January) and Season Finale Concert (May), and additional events as needed (e.g., masterclasses, fundraisers).Remote Responsibilities:Ongoing communication with families and team members.Program planning and coordination.Completion of administrative tasks and reporting.
