The Studio Technician is a hands-on role, central to the production, handling and installation of artworks created for international exhibitions and projects. The Studio Technician is involved in all aspects of the art-making and art-handling processes and is responsible for ensuring the studio’s standards are consistently executed and maintained. The right person possesses exceptional hands-on skills, is uniquely and passionately detailed oriented, and a team player. The studio is a fast-paced, collaborative environment where professionalism and a commitment to excellence are essential. RESPONSIBILITIES● Execute artwork production from start to finish● Stretch and finish works on canvas with the highest level of precision● Pack and prepare artwork and materials for domestic and international shipment● Inspect artworks and materials for production (on and off-site, including international travel) and create condition/inspection reports● Install artworks across studio spaces as well as at off-site locations● Create and maintain artwork installation guides● Maintain the organization and cleanliness of studio spaces REQUIREMENTS● Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience● Minimum 2 years’ experience in artwork production and fabrication● Exceptional artwork finishing and handling skills● Meticulous attention to detail and quality control● Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills● Proficiency in Google Workspace● Demonstrated track record of proactive problem-solving and solutions-oriented thinking PREFERRED● Experience with Artlogic and Notion platforms● Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite● Familiarity with art world protocols and industry practices● Driver’s license (non-CDL)
