A leading Upper East Side gallery is seeking a Financial Manager to support the gallery’s financial operations and manage the business aspects of gallery sales, from invoicing through reconciliation. This role works closely with the sales and operations teams, as well as the Controller, to ensure accurate documentation, payment processing, and reporting related to gallery sales and programming.The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented, with the ability to anticipate and follow up on time-sensitive financial matters. They should be comfortable managing multiple financial processes in a fast- paced gallery environment and take initiative in maintaining accurate records while supporting the operational and financial workflow of the gallery.Key Responsibilities: Prepare and issue client invoices, including sales tax, shipping, and reimbursements. Maintain accurate records of sales, payments, and costs in the gallery database. Coordinate with sales and operations teams to ensure timely invoicing and payment for gallery transactions. Prepare and process accounts payable and assist with artist statements and payables. Populate financial data for exhibition and art fair budgets and sales reporting. Reconcile and monitor gallery staff expenses.Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent professional experience. Finance or accounting experience within an art gallery environment. Exceptional attention to detail and strong recordkeeping skills. Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.Proficiency in Artlogic, Microsoft Excel, and expense management software; experience with QuickBooks accounting software is a plus. Must be authorized to work in the United States.
