The Hole is seeking a full-time and experienced Associate Director to join our gallery team with a focus on sales. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, detail-oriented professional who will be responsible for building and nurturing relationships with clients and institutions based out of our New York locations.This position is sales-focused, so candidates should have a passion for and past success with sales of emerging art.Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:· Working under our Owner and side-by-side with our New York-based directors· Generate sales with new and existing clients· Actively grow our client base and seek out and acquire desirable inventory for the business· Educate and inform collectors, advisors, and curators on gallery artists and exhibitions· Travel for domestic and international art fairs as needed· Manage sales materials and invoices, create targeted outreach lists, wait lists, past sales informationREQUIREMENTS· At least 2 years of experience in a gallery or auction house· At least 2 years of excellent sales performance in any field· A history of developing and maintaining client relationships· Bachelor’s Degree or higher· Tuesday - Saturday and extra hours as needed for openings and events· Familiarity and knowledge of contemporary art world and market with a specialty in emerging art ideal· Extensive Mac literacy, proficiency in Arternal (or similar program such as ArtBase or ArtLogic), Microsoft Office and knowledge in Adobe image software requiredSalary commensurate with experience.
