The Gallery Assistant will be a core part of the small team running our New York gallery, helping ensure smooth daily operations, supporting exhibition installs, and assisting with client, artist, and press communications. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their gallery career who wants hands-on exposure to all sides of running a contemporary art space.ResponsibilitiesManage front-of-gallery operations, including greeting visitors and maintaining the space during open hoursAssist with exhibition installation and de-installation, including handling and condition-checking artworkSupport the coordination of shipping, logistics, and artwork loansHelp maintain gallery archives, artist files, inventory, and CRM/database recordsDraft and proofread correspondence with artists, collectors, and pressAssist with research for exhibitions, art fairs, and potential acquisitionsSupport general administrative tasks: scheduling, invoicing, and vendor coordinationQualificationsBachelor\'s degree in Art History, Studio Art, or a related field (or equivalent experience)0–2 years of gallery, auction house, or museum experience preferredStrong writing and communication skillsHighly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple tasksProficiency with standard office software; familiarity with gallery CRM systems (e.g. Artlogic, ArtBinder) a plusGenuine interest in contemporary art and willingness to learnAble to lift and handle artwork safely as needed
