DC Moore Gallery is seeking a full-time Communications and Publications Manager to join our team. The position will lead the Gallery’s press relations, design and production of printed materials, digital initiatives, advertising, and social media platforms. The role requires a strong marketing sensibility, attention to detail, sense of design and advanced software skills. The Communications and Publications Manager will work closely with the senior staff and sales team to develop communication strategies for exhibitions and art fairs. We are looking for a candidate to take initiative in a fast-paced environment with a strong interest and experience in arts PR. Responsibilities will include:Assist and implement public relations and marketing initiativesWriting and formatting press releases, digital campaigns, and social media contentRespond to all press inquiries and discuss current shows in greater depth with reviewers as needed; release images for press and publications; create digital press kits for forthcoming reviews Maintain press database and build out network of press contactsMonitor press coverage, source and log press coverageManage timetable for communications materials, events and initiativesOversees visual archiving, including communications with photographer, processing and saving digital photos to the server, adherence to size resolution and naming conventions, maintaining system of organization and color correcting as neededIn-house graphic design and printing of sales materials as needed; liaising with the Designer and any outside vendorsCreate social content for Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter Experience/Skills required:BA or Master’s degree in Communications, Art History or related fieldMinimum of 3 years of art industry experience required, preferably in CommunicationsExperience in a commercial art gallery or arts institution’s press office a or arts focused PR agencyExcellent communication skills and ability to function as part of a teamEase and enthusiasm in engaging with the press and publicExcellent written skills and knowledge of editorial processes and PR campaignsExperience in Adobe CS5; Photoshop and InDesign (essential)Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and Mac OSXExcellent English language skills required Enthusiastic interest in social media channels and their respective strategies is a plus Position hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 10 AM – 6 PM, with additional hours necessary on an as-needed basis. Salary commensurate with experience.
