Uprise Art is seeking a part-time art handler to independently lead preparation of outbound shipments, install gallery exhibitions and manage on-site artwork storage. SKILLS2+ years art handling experienceBA or BFA in studio art or related field preferred Fluency in art handling packing standards, such as shadowboxes, soft-packing, and cardboard slip casingWork efficientlyPositive attitude and strong work ethic; a team player who works well independently and with othersAttention to detail, ability to prioritize assignments using task management software, strong organizational skillsFamiliarity with Google Workspace, inventory management systems, and Google Sheets/ExcelRESPONSIBILITIESHandle, pack, and ship artwork in accordance with industry standards and practicesAccurately complete all projects in a timely manner, and ensure that each item, package, crate and shipment is labeled accurately and appropriatelyInstall and deinstall exhibitions at the gallery and at art fairsAccurately maintain and update artwork storage locations in inventory management systemWork closely with the Operations Manager to ensure order shipments meet deadlinesCollaborate with the Registrar to ensure all artwork for exhibitions and in gallery storage are packed safely and documented Transport small artwork via ride-share to collectors to deliver and/or install works. Prepare gallery for private artwork viewings and reset space and store artwork afterwardThis is a part-time, in-person position (12 hours per week to start) for applicants who are based in NYC and able to work from Uprise Art in Chinatown. Final applicants will be invited to a paid trial the week of July 27th and the starting date is Monday, August 3rd.
