Casey Kaplan, New York seeks a full-time Assistant to the Directors. The ideal candidate must have prior experience in a commercial gallery or museum environment, along with a proven interest in contemporary art and a career in the gallery sector. Key Skills/Experience: Knowledge of modern and contemporary art; BA or Master\'s degree in Art History is preferred. Familiarity with Artbinder, Artlogic, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, WordPress, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite.Superior written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks, work autonomously, and set/manage timelines. Demonstrate discretion and poise in client-facing environments. Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide overall administrative and sales support to the Senior and Associate Directors. Support artist liaising objectives, including external exhibitions, contracts, publications, commissions, and residency applications. Draft and manage correspondence with collectors, curators, and advisors on behalf of the Directors.Produce tailored offers for institutional and sales outreach. Lead photography operations for the gallery, including scheduling photographers for on and off-site shoots and directing day-of operations. Produce image scale renderings, mock-ups, and other edits as needed in Photoshop Supervise Gallery Assistant and delegate tasks by priority.Support press initiatives for the gallery, including outreach, pitch-making, image copyright requests, and press kit compilations. Support writing projects, such as work descriptions and other gallery communications. Oversee the gallery’s online sales presence, including online viewing rooms, Artsy inventories, and art fair initiatives. Research targeted client engagement lists, such as event guest list suggestions. Complete appraisal requests. Oversee gallery-wide internal scheduling and project management systems. Manage travel and scheduling arrangements for staff and artists as needed.
