SUNY Brockport is accepting applications for an Admissions Advisor. Reporting to the Associate Director, this position is responsible for processing freshman and transfer credentials, decisioning applications, recruiting prospective students from high schools and community colleges, and building and maintaining relationships with high school and transfer counselors. The Admissions Advisor will represent the university at on-campus admissions and conversion events, as well as off-campus recruitment events throughout New Jersey, Connecticut, and Westchester County. With a strong focus on student success, the advisor will guide prospective students through the admissions process while supporting the recruitment of a high-quality and diverse undergraduate class. In addition to general recruitment responsibilities, this position will serve on the Transfer Services team, processing degree audits, entering transfer coursework, and assisting with communications for transfer students.
Essential Functions: - Participates as the Advisor on Duty with a routine schedule which includes meeting with families, conducting information sessions, and answering phone calls.
- Responds to inquiries for information on admissions and participates in call campaigns to contact students who have expressed an interest in attending.
- Represents SUNY Brockport at on-campus and off-campus recruitment events such as high school visits, college fairs and other various off campus meetings to promote the university.
- Reviews applicants’ high school and college credentials and determines eligibility for admission.
- Conducts follow-up communications with applicants and organizes special on-campus recruitment events.
- Travels throughout assigned recruitment territory to develop and manage relationships within the respective territory.
- Participates on the transfer services team, processing degree audits and entering transfer coursework.
Non-Essential Functions: - Serves and participates in on-campus committees.
- Generates reports and office data as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:Preferred Qualifications:- Master's degree by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university
- One to three years previous admissions, enrollment and/or student recruitment experience
- Experience with higher education admission CRM such as Slate and/or comprehensive student system such as Banner
- Knowledge of local, regional and national college counseling ethics, standards, trends, strategies and tactics
- Bilingual
Work Schedule:37.5 hours/week: Monday-Friday, 8 am-4 pm, some nights and weekends required during the recruitment cycle.
