We are seeking an Object Research Intern to support the cataloguing and research of works by leading postwar and contemporary artists, including Cy Twombly, Willem de Koonin, Brice Marden, and Peter Doig, among others.About the RoleThis role involves substantive engagement with primary and secondary sources, catalogues raisonnés, exhibition records, and auction archives. The intern will contribute directly to the development of internal databases that support the company\'s initiatives by conducting in-depth research on artists\' oeuvres and consolidating provenance, ownership, and market history from internal and external sources. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen research, editing, and organizational skills, as well as to engage with a range of constituents in the field.Responsibilities· Catalogue works on paper, paintings, and sculptures, recording physical descriptions, provenance, exhibition history, and bibliographic references· Conduct literature research using catalogues raisonnés, monographs, exhibition catalogues, and scholarly journals· Maintain and update object records in internal databases· Write concise overviews of specific series within an artist\'s oeuvreQualifications· Current enrollment in or recent completion of an undergraduate or graduate degree in art history, museum studies, or a related field· Strong research and writing skills, with attention to detail and the ability to synthesize information from varied sources· Familiarity with art historical reference materials, including catalogues raisonnés and exhibition catalogues· Proficiency with Adobe (Excel, InDeign); experience with inventory or collections management software (ArtLogic) a plus· Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information
