Peter Blum Gallery is seeking a fulltime Gallery Administrator to work regularly Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-6pm with additional hours as needed. The qualified candidate will be primarily expected to provide administrative support to the gallery’s staff.Responsibilities:- Greet visitors and answer basic questions with a professional demeanor from the front desk- Answer telephone and basic questions, direct calls effectively- Manage and expand the gallery’s Instagram account and presence- Manage publications: track current inventory, process sales, mail publications, and order publications- Manage art inventory and exhibitions on the gallery’s website and other platforms- Manage press and artists’ CVs: keep current and create/edit PDFs to upload to website and server, and compile current events lists for e-blast newsletters- Monitor auctions and track auction lots of interest, request condition reports, often with gallery owner-Assist gallery owner with email dictation and various online tasks- Maintain gallery archives, both digital and hardcopy- Assist with art fair and exhibition preparation- Assist with research and presentation materials as needed- Order miscellaneous supplies- Receive mail and sort it, assist in sending mail/small packages-Assist in creating Online Viewing Rooms and presentation materials including PDFs- Assist in adding contacts to ArtLogic database and updating contacts and creating eblasts in MailchimpRequirements:- Bachelor’s degree and a background in art- Experience in a similar role, preferably at an art gallery- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat- Interest in Modern and Contemporary art- Friendly and professional demeanor- Familiarity with Artlogic, Mailchimp, Exhibit E a plus- Multilingual a plusSalary to be determined, based upon experience.Qualified candidates will be contacted, please no calls or walk-ins.
