The Wildenstein Plattner Institute (WPI) seeks a researcher to contribute to a catalogue raisonné project. Working closely with a project manager, the researcher will resolve outstanding questions relating to provenance, track exhibition histories, compile bibliographies, fact-check existing findings, ; and assist with all aspects of the digital production of the catalogue raisonné.The researcher will possess great attention to detail and a strong critical eye, both for editorial and historical accuracy. Also key to this role will be a background in art history, particularly an understanding of collection formation, networks of dealers, and institutional history; the acuity to prioritize tasks; the ability to think creatively to problem-solve; a collegial camaraderie and willingness to support colleagues developing other catalogue raisonné projects; and an aptitude for working with and learning about digital platforms and databases, both in-house and beyond.This position will be conducted as a hybrid of in-person work at the WPI’s Manhattan office (three to four days a week), and independent, remote work. Visits to NYC-area research libraries will be required. Responsibilities and Duties:Consistently and accurately performs cataloguing in accordance with Chicago Manual of Style and WPI style guidelines.Acquires expertise in the WPI\'s database and production guidelines.
