Yossi Milo is seeking a full-time Gallery Assistant, with a position available immediately. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter and must have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in a similar role at a contemporary art gallery. The position offers the opportunity to join our sales team in a support capacity with opportunities for long-term development and growth with the gallery. Job Description: The Gallery Assistant will provide day-to-day administrative support to the Principal in all facets of the gallery’s operation and play an integral role in managing sales. This person will assist the Principal with outreach, client interactions, viewings, and maintaining relationships with artists and collectors. In addition to the primary responsibilities of working alongside the Principal, the Gallery Assistant will be a key member of the staff, providing support to the larger team and playing a central role in gallery operations. Key Responsibilities Sales Support: Manage and organize the Principal’s inbox, as well as drafting sales offers and correspondenceGenerate sales materials, including PDFs, fact sheets, and PrivateViews Update and maintain contact lists and sales sheets Coordinate and schedule client viewings Prepare invoices as needed and work closely with the Registrar and Sales Assistant to manage post-sales follow-up Support the Principal in liaising with artists Coordinate and oversee gallery events, managing guest lists and liaising with venues General Duties: Write for the gallery, including press releases, artist bios, and artwork descriptionsCollaborate on social media and marketing, as well as proofreading and reviewing all external copy and materialsAssist with press outreach in advance of exhibitions and art fairs Support the Principal and Directors during openings, art fairs, and events Required Qualifications: BA in Art History, Studio Art, or a related field 1-2 years of minimum experience in a similar role at a contemporary art gallery Strong ability to write and communicate, as well as meticulous proofreading and editing Experience with database software; experience with Artlogic is highly preferred High-level proficiency with Microsoft Office High-level proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud; experience with InDesign required and experience with Photoshop preferred The ideal candidate will also possess the following skills and traits: Excellent interpersonal skills and discretion Meticulous attention to detail and highly organized Professional, friendly, and calm disposition with a proactive and positive attitude Solutions-oriented thinking and thoughtful approaches to problem-solving Ability to work productively, prioritize, and multitask with ease in a fast-paced environment Essential knowledge of art handling is preferredThis is a full-time position.
