Representing more than seventy artists, as well as major foundations and estates, Gladstone has played a significant role in launching the careers of several of the most notable artists working today.Position Summary:The Assistant to Sales Director & Artist Liaison provides direct support to the gallery’s Directors in all aspects of sales, artist liaison work, administration, exhibitions, art fairs, and client relations. This role requires excellent writing and communication skills, strong attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced gallery environment.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Provide sales support, including drafting correspondence, sales offers, appraisals, artwork descriptions, and other client-facing materials.Conduct market research, monitor auction results, and update sales tools and internal records.Assist with organizing client viewings, including artwork preparation, presentation materials, and installation logistics.Prepare and organize artist information, inventory, and related materials for art fairs, exhibitions, and client presentations.Support communication with gallery artists and studios, including coordinating information requests, updating artist bibliographies, and ensuring gallery website content remains current.Assist with the planning, organization, and realization of exhibitions by gallery artists, both at the gallery and with outside institutions.Coordinate consignments, loans, framing, production, shipping, and other exhibition-related logistics in communication with artists, studios, vendors, and institutional partners.Track and confirm post-sale logistics, including documentation, invoicing support, shipping, installation, and related follow-up.Coordinate meetings and provide administrative support for loans, consignments, exhibitions, and artist-related projects.Manage and communicate Directors’ calendars, including meetings, viewings, events, openings, art fairs, travel, and other gallery-wide commitments.Organize travel and accommodations, including flights, hotels, itineraries, and related reservations.Assist with general administrative tasks, including expense reports, filing, database updates, and internal communications.Requirements:Minimum of 3 years of experience at an art gallery, auction house, art advisory, or comparable arts organization.Excellent written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities with professionalism and discretion.Ability to handle confidential information with care.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ArtBase or related gallery/inventory database software.Knowledge of contemporary art and the gallery environment preferred.Schedule is Tuesday – Saturday, 10:00am – 6:00pm
