Rosie Li Studio is a Brooklyn-based design studio producing sculptural lighting inspired by nature and geometry. Our team designs, engineers and fabricates lighting that blends art and functionality.We are seeking an Assembler to support the assembly, parts fabrication and fulfillment of our lighting products. This is a hands-on role in our studio workshop, working closely with the fabrication and assembly team to build fixtures to a high standard of quality and consistency.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable and comfortable working with tools and physical processes. You should be able to follow established build steps, stay organized, and maintain consistent quality across repeated builds. Being able to read 3D models and technical line drawings is critical.Location: Brooklyn, NY 11238 (On-site)Status: Full-time Hourly, Non-exempt (eligible for overtime)Schedule:Typical hours are 10:00am - 6:00pm Monday through Thursday, 10:00am - 5:00pm on Fridays. Occasional earlier start times based on production needInitial onboarding period: 4 days/week (Monday - Thursday)Expected to scale to: 5 days/week once fully trained and up to speed (Monday - Friday)This role is intended to grow into a full 5-day/week position.Role Responsibilities:Assembly & Production (Approx 75%)Assemble lighting fixtures and components to established standardsWork from 3D models, technical line drawings, and build documentation to ensure accurate assemblyPerform lamp wiring, lamping, component installation as required (training provided where needed)Use hand tools and power tools safely and accuratelySupport metal parts handling, light fabrication tasks, and finishing prep (labeling, packing for vendors)Assist with prototypes and marketing samples as neededPacking, Fulfillment & Shop Support (Approx 25%)Support production staging: counting, sorting and preparing hardware and parts for buildsWrap, pack and prepare completed fixtures for shipmentAssist with shop organization, tool orderliness, basic upkeepAssist with local deliveries, installations; occasional off-site work as needed(Some travel outside NYC may be required on occasion)QualificationsMinimum 4 years total work experienceMinimum 1 year in a parallel role (assembly, fabrication or production in a workshop setting)Ability to read and interpret 3D models and technical line drawingsStrong attention to detail and ability to work cleanly and consistentlyComfort working with your hands and performing detailed assembly tasks at a high levelAbility to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbsComfort using power tools (e.g. drill press, hand drill, drivers); training provided for studio-specific processesStrong communication, follow-through and reliabilityPreferred Experience:Experience in lamp assembly, metal fabrication, or similar production workWood shop and/or metal shop experienceFamiliarity with finishing processes and handling finished parts without damageDriver’s license and driving proficiency (helpful but not required)
