Casey Kaplan, New York is seeking a full-time Registrar. The ideal candidate has strong experience in registration and/or logistics in a gallery, museum or fine art logistics environment. Working in tandem with our existing registration team, this position will specialize in post-sale coordination and the oversight of sold artworks, serving as a primary liaison between the gallery and clients. Additional registrarial duties may include artist and exhibition coordination. A successful candidate will possess a strong, professional demeanor and have previous experience in external communications. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Managing end-to-end post-sale logistics for sold artworks, including invoicing, obtaining shipping estimates, and planning on-site installations with clients.Coordinating domestic and international shipments, with an understanding of customs, VAT and sales tax requirements.Reviewing loan agreements / consignments with the gallery Directors.Generating condition reports for all incoming and outgoing artwork inventory.Maintaining inventory and client records within the gallery’s Artlogic database.Providing oversight around production, framing and artwork fabrication for the gallery’s artists, where applicable.Supporting the gallery’s robust exhibition and art fairs programming in collaboration with the Head Preparator and Registrar.Maintaining Certificates of Authenticity and appraisals. Qualifications: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail.Working knowledge of museum standards for packing, crating, handling and maintaining artworks.Previous experience with artwork inventory databases. Knowledge of Artlogic is preferred.Applicant must maintain discretion, sound judgment and show a proven ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. This role involves a high degree of autonomy.
