Yossi Milo Gallery, a contemporary art gallery in Chelsea working with all media, seeks an experienced, detail-oriented Registrar with exceptional organizational skills, experience with domestic and international shipping, and a professional, friendly manner.Responsibilities: The Registrar is responsible for many key aspects of the gallery’s operation. Duties include, but are not limited to:Facilitate and manage incoming and outgoing shipments, working closely with vendors for estimate bidding and shipping requests for shipments.Maintain physical and digital inventory for works at the gallery and storage spacesCoordinate all aspects of artwork shipping for post-sales, art fairs, consignments and loans, including domestic and international transportation, customs, and insuranceWork closely with the Directors to manage post-sale shipping, framing, and production ordersCreate and maintain detailed records for shipping, receiving, loans and consignmentsCreate and execute agreements for loans and consignmentsExecute detailed condition reportsMaintain a network of domestic and international shipping partners.Develop budgets for art fairs and exhibitions with the DirectorsWork closely with preparators and provide guidance and direction as needed.Required Qualifications: BA in Art History or a related field Minimum 3 years of experience as a Registrar in a gallery or auction house is requiredExperience with database software; Minimum one year of experience with ArtlogicHigh-level proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative CloudExcellent verbal communication and writing skills are essentialExceptional planning, organizing and execution of both immediate needs and long-term projectsKnowledge of international customs and tax procedures a plus.Knowledge of sales tax compliance.Experience with Quickbooks is a plus.The candidate must be capable of prioritizing and executing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and must have the ability to work collaboratively as part of the gallery team. This is a full-time position. The gallery’s hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 6pm. Schedule flexibility around art fairs, openings and events will be required.
