Position: Junior Appraiser in Postwar, Contemporary art and Emerging Art.Muriel Quancard & Associates is an appraisal and consulting firm specializing in postwar, contemporary, and emerging art, with niche expertise in time-based media, digital art, and complex media installations. We are committed to rigorous research, USPAP-compliant ethical standards, and a forward-thinking approach. Our clients are primarily based in the United States, with concentrations in New York, Texas, California, and Florida, and include private collectors, estates, institutions, and legal professionals.Role: We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Appraiser to assist on select appraisal projects. Excellent opportunity for an early-career professional looking to gain hands-on experience.Responsibilities:· Conduct artist and market research.· Draft and edit sections of appraisal reports (e.g., artist biography, market analysis, item description.)· Support valuation analysis by organizing comparables and documents.· Assist in layout and formatting of reports using templates.· Participate in team meetings or check-ins (remote or in person).Qualifications:· Prior experience in appraisals, cataloging, or art-market research.· Strong writing and research abilities with precise attention to detail.· Able to work independently, meet deadlines, and integrate feedback.· Familiarity with post-war and contemporary art; interest in time-based media and digital.· Tech-savvy, proactive in adopting new tools and workflows (AI, metadata systems, digital archives) to enhance research, valuation rigor, and report methodology.· Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Dropbox.Education Requirements:· Background in art history or related field (Master’s preferred).· Familiarity with USPAP and AAA coursework. USPAP compliancy is a plus.
