As a Parts Manager, you are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Parts department. This role involves managing team members, ensuring compliance with industry standards, optimizing processes, and enhancing customer satisfaction. You will provide leadership for all aspects of the Parts department operations, to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and profitability of the Parts department. You are to model behaviors and a culture for success including integrity, respect, drive, community, fun and pride without ego, with self-confidence, and creativity.
Job Duties and Responsibilities including, but not limited to:
Lead, coach, mentor, and manage team members, establishing and fostering employee engagement to develop a high performing team.
Hire, train, motivate, counsel and monitor the performance of all department team members.
Provide enthusiastic leadership to shape team member’s attitudes and build morale.
Maintains a balanced inventory consistent with the requirements of the service department, body shop, wholesale accounts.
Hold weekly scheduled department meetings to ensure effective communication with your team and to ensure the Parts Department is operating efficiently and profitably.
Establishes individual parts inventory levels and balances them for maximum turnover.
Establishes pricing parameters in each customer category that generate sufficient gross profit to produce a satisfactory profit while maintaining guest loyalty.
Monitors and adjusts inventory to minimize obsolescence.
Ensure that all parts are properly tagged so that the dealership recovers full credit from the factory.
Supervise stock order procedures.
Set comprehensive expectations of Parts Department team members. Participate in team member reviews as necessary to ensure compliance and growth of team members.
Forecast & execute goals, KPIs, and objectives both annually and monthly for the department.
Monitor and control the performance of the department using appropriate reports, tracking systems and surveys.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations (i.e. OSHA Right-to-Know), and standards to maintain the legality and business integrity of Dealership.
Perform monthly commissions and provide details Payroll, if applicable.
Works with the service manager to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs.
