Nino Mier Gallery is a contemporary art gallery located in New York City and Brussels, representing emerging and established artists. We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and professional Assistant Registrar to join our team. This full-time position offers direct experience in gallery operations, logistics, client engagement, and administrative coordination.Reporting directly to the Head Registrar, the Assistant Registrar plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the gallery. We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and genuine enthusiasm for the gallery program. This ideal candidate is passionate about contemporary art and eager to build a career in the gallery world. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to thrive and pivot in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities • Post-Sale Shipments: source competitive shipping quotes, prepare invoices, collect payments, and coordinate artwork release with preparatory staff and off-site storage.• Catalog incoming inventory and regularly update the database (Artlogic) to ensure accurate availability, location, Provenance, exhibition history, and production costs.• Perform condition reports for incoming and outgoing artworks.• Organize and file all physical records, including invoices, BOLs, customs entry and tax forms, and release documentation.• Assist with image archiving and photography schedule.QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have several, if not all, of the following qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Art History, Arts Administration, or related field1–2 years of relevant experience in a gallery, museum, or visual arts setting (internships considered)Strong understanding of shipping procedures, with familiarity with international shippingStrong interest in and knowledge of contemporary artProfessional, calm, and diplomatic demeanor, with excellent interpersonal skillsAbility to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work well under pressureExcellent written and verbal communication skillsMeticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skillsHigh level of proficiency with Mac OS, Microsoft Office, Adobe InDesign and Acrobat, and gallery database software (Artlogic or similar)Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends for openings or special events as needed
