Director of Finance and Administration Bardavon 1869 Opera House, Inc.Position OverviewThe Bardavon 1869 Opera House, a dynamic hub for artistic expression and community engagement, seeks a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance to oversee all financial operations. This pivotal role ensures the financial health and sustainability of our organization, supporting our mission. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Director of Finance will serve as a key member of the senior leadership team, providing strategic financial guidance and ensuring the sound management of all fiscal resources. The Bardavon 1869 Opera House offers PTO, low cost medical and dental insurance, company paid life insurance, and a flexible hybrid schedule. The Bardavon also provides 2 weeks off paid between Christmas and the new year and a 4 day work week during the summer. Key Responsibilities· Financial Planning & Analysis: Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets, $4 million budget, create long-term financial models and forecasts, analyze financial performance, and advise leadership on financial and operational effectiveness. · Financial Reporting & Controls: Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports to management, the Board of Directors, and funding agencies. This includes statements of financial position, activities, cash flows, and budget comparisons. · Strategic Collaboration: Work with executive leadership to align financial strategy with artistic vision and operational objectives. Serve as a liaison to the Finance Committee and Board of Directors. · Accounting & Financial Systems: Manage the organization\'s financial, accounting, and control systems, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with GAAP and other regulations. · Cash Flow Management: Monitor and adjust cash flow, manage banking relationships, and optimize interest earnings. · Audit & Compliance: Execute annual audits, prepare financial statements and tax filings in connection with the company’s outside firm and ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations. · Serve as staff liaison to the Board’s Executive, Finance, Audit and Governance Committees · Ensure planning, execution, creation of materials and minutes for Board and Annual Membership meetings · Grant Management Support: Provide financial reporting for grant applications and funders, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of restricted funds. · Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor finance staff, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. Qualifications· Bachelor\'s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or a related field; a Master\'s degree or CPA preferred.· Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior finance position, preferably within a non-profit arts organization or performing arts center.· Proven expertise in financial forecasting, accounting principles, and financial data analysis.· Strong leadership, management, and team development skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
