A New York art gallery is seeking a highly organized and experienced Registrar to oversee all aspects of artwork registration, logistics, collections management, and exhibition support. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with extensive experience managing fine art logistics, registration, and inventory across a fast-paced gallery environment.The Role:Draft, review, and manage consignment and loan agreements.Oversee the intake of artworks and maintain all associated records within the gallery\'s artwork database.Coordinate domestic and international artwork shipments and logistics.Manage framing, conservation, and related artwork preparation projects.Perform incoming and outgoing condition reports and inspections.Oversee artwork insurance requirements, risk management, and policy administration.Maintain accurate inventory records for artworks across gallery and storage locations, including works in transit.Coordinate artwork photography and maintain digital image assets for inventory, exhibitions, and art fairs.Ensure all shipping documentation, customs paperwork, and compliance records are complete and properly maintained.Coordinate packing, handling, transportation, and installation requirements with art handlers, vendors, and shippers.Support gallery exhibitions, installations, and domestic and international art fairs.Assist with facilities coordination for gallery and off-site storage locations.Prepare inventory, consignor, artist, and project-related reports as needed.Requirements:Bachelor\'s degree in Art History, Arts Administration, Museum Studies, or a related field preferred.Minimum of five years of registration, collections management, or registrar experience within a gallery, museum, auction house, or comparable arts organization.Extensive knowledge of domestic and international fine art shipping, logistics, customs, and insurance.Familiarity with a wide range of artistic media; knowledge of conservation practices is a plus.Experience with collections management databases (Artlogic or similar platforms preferred).Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work efficiently under deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
