Reports to: Director of CommunicationsDepartment: CommunicationsStatus: Full-Time, Exempt About the Central Park ConservancyCentral Park is one of the world\'s most famous urban public spaces, beloved by New Yorkers as “NYC’s backyard.” Designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux in 1857, the 843-acre Park was the country\'s first purpose-built public park, created to welcome New Yorkers from all walks of life, and is a National Historic Landmark. The Central Park Conservancy, a private, not-for-profit organization, was founded in 1980 to rescue the Park, which had fallen into serious disrepair. Since then, the Conservancy has overseen the investment of approximately $1.6 billion in the restoration of the Park, which now welcomes over 40 million visitors a year. The City of New York has formally entrusted the care of the Park to the Conservancy, which is responsible for every aspect of its care, including landscape maintenance, capital improvements, and the visitor experience. Today, the Conservancy\'s mission is to preserve and celebrate Central Park as a sanctuary from urban life. Committed to sharing the best practices in urban park management, the Conservancy also serves as a resource for other New York City parks, as well as public-private partnerships worldwide. Job Summary:The Central Park Conservancy is seeking a Senior Manager of Social Media to drive the organization’s cross-platform social strategy, helping more New Yorkers cultivate a closer relationship to the Park and to the Conservancy. The Senior Manager will articulate the organization’s broader communications strategy through creative campaigns and partnerships that advance the organization’s mission and brand awareness. With an experienced understanding of social media platforms, production, and analytics, this person will oversee and actively produce strategic social campaigns; refine and evolve the Conservancy’s social “voice”; and manage real-time public engagement. Reporting to the Director of Communications, the ideal candidate will possess strong writing skills with an eye for creative visual design; work seamlessly within a collaborative, fast-paced team; and have a genuine love for Central Park. Responsibilities:· Strategy Building: Set goals; develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy; and manage the Conservancy’s presence across Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms; ensuring alignment with the Conservancy’s organizational communications plan.· Content Management and Production: Direct the social media calendar and provide strategic direction for all content creation, including:o Producing short-form video for TikTok, Reels, and Stories; experience shooting and editing on mobile required; ando Copywriting across campaigns and storylines to ensure consistency of voice and messaging; ando Executing rapid response messaging when needed.· Influencer and Community Management: Oversee daily community management across all platforms, including: o responding to inquiries and comments; o collaborating with institutional and City partners; ando developing and managing influencer cultivation to extend the Conservancy’s reach and engagement.· Team Management: Oversee and mentor the Assistant Manager of Content to execute social strategy and day-to-day operations; manage third-party vendors and partnerships.· Organizational Collaboration: Work in-office and in-Park with Operations, Capital Projects, Public Engagement, and other Conservancy teams at each stage of content development process. Collaborate with Senior Director of Marketing, and potentially third-party agency partners, on creation and deployment of select paid media campaigns.· Analytics: Track key metrics across platforms to maximize performance, inform strategy, and develop actionable reports. Requirements:· Minimum of 6-8 years of increasingly progressive social media strategy, content production, and crisis management skills.
