POSITION OVERVIEWThe Temporary, Part-Time Registrar will play a major role in implementing a time-limited project to improve CE\'s digital asset management system. The project will include but not be limited to the documentation of newly made artwork, the creation of new records for artwork in the organization’s digital asset management system (ArtCloud), and the storing of physical artwork. The Temporary, Part-Time Registrar will exercise their own discretion to oversee the planning and implementation of ArtCloud protocols and will track all artworks leaving and returning to the CE studios for opportunities including but not limited to consignments, loans, sales and art fairs. Through accurate ArtCloud management, they will oversee the stability, accessibility and safekeeping of a large physical artwork archive and an extensive digital archive. The system they plan will be adopted and used by the staff of Creativity Explored during and after the Temporary, Part-Time Registrar’s work period and will strengthen business strategies and opportunities for the organization into the future.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESThree main phases of the temporary project include but are not limited to:Phase 1: Establishing clear protocols for documenting and entering new artworks into ArtCloud while tracking current incoming/outgoing artworks. Training Exhibitions Department members on best practices.Phase 2: Project manage the data migration of archival artworks entries from past systems into ArtCloud. Ensure accuracy of images, metadata and physical artwork condition and location.Phase 3: Oversee the addition of archival artworks in the collection to the ArtCloud system that have not been documented to date.The Temporary, Part-Time Registrar will work collaboratively with the Exhibitions Coordinator, Sales Coordinator, Gallery and Exhibitions Associate on all three phases of the project.The Temporary, Part-Time Registrar also provides technical assistance to the Marketing Manager, Director of Advancement and Director of Finance and Operations to ensure the digital asset management system and the information it contains is accessible to all departments in the organization.Organizational RelationshipsThe Temporary, Part-Time Registrar is expected to work productively in a team environment, to provide support as a member of our Exhibitions Team, and to foster open communication with staff across the organization to produce communications that support the organization’s mission and goals. Most work takes place during M-F business hours with a hybrid schedule in place with CE hybrid work policies requiring 60% of time spent on site at one of our two studio locations.Creativity Explored requires all staff to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide proof of vaccination upon hire.
