You are a flexible, responsible, and experienced educator specializing in teaching drawing, painting (acrylics, watercolors and oils) and mixed-media art to both adults and children. HOURS:15-25 hours/ week3 days/week minimum requiredMUST BE AVAILABLE 1 WEEKEND DAY + 2 WEEKDAYS (FROM HOURS BELOW):Saturday or Sunday, 10 am - 6 pmMonday-Thursday, 3 pm - 10 pmSTART DATE: ImmediatelyCORE VALUESGrowth MindsetTeamwork: Reliability, Accountability, Self-Responsibility, CommunicationEmpathetic Relationship Building Emotional MaturityImpact-drivenESSENTIAL INSTRUCTOR RESPONSIBILITIES • Leading art classes, programs and private events in locations throughout NYC, including W. 72 Art Studio, museums, schools, libraries, private homes and businesses• Creating a nurturing, inclusive and positive learning environment for all learners and developing a student return following through empathetic relationship building• Providing excellent customer service and light marketing duties• Taking direction from supervisors and implementing structured curriculum• Implementing effective classroom and behavioral management skills• Collaborating with a team of professionals with a commitment to growth and professional development• Experience in traditional drawing (pencil, pastels), painting (watercolors, acrylics, oils), comics/manga, and mixed-media art, with an eagerness to learn new mediums you\'re less familiar with• Excellent communication and listening skillsQUALIFICATIONS• 3 years experience teaching in an educational setting• Proven classroom and conflict management skills• Degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, K-12, or Studio Art• Successful track record teaching a variety of artistic media and learning new skills ongoing• Excellence in leadership and communication skills• Ability to connect and collaborate with diverse personalitiesThe Art Studio NY is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
