The Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) is the largest national trade association dedicated to representing collision repair facilities. SCRS was founded with the principles that through working together as a community, collision repair facilities can inspire positive advancement in our industry. Position Summary
SCRS is seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking Senior Communications Manager to oversee the association’s outreach, public image, and strategic messaging. The role will lead the development and execution of communication strategies that elevate SCRS’s visibility, strengthen relationships with members and stakeholders, and expand engagement among businesses not yet connected to the association.
This position requires a blend of strategic vision, hands-on implementation, and leadership; ideal for a candidate who can balance creativity with operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop, implement, and evaluate SCRS’s annual communications plan in collaboration with the Executive Director, Chairman, and leadership team.
- Ensure consistent messaging, tone, and brand alignment across all communications platforms.
- Identify emerging opportunities to amplify the SCRS mission and strengthen the association’s voice within the industry.
Content and Campaign Development
- Lead the creation of engaging, high-quality digital and print content that drives measurable engagement and action.
- Manage press releases, newsletters, web content, social media, whitepapers, and promotional materials.
- Oversee creative campaigns that support SCRS events, initiatives, and advocacy priorities.
Digital Presence and Analytics
- Maintain and optimize the SCRS website to ensure fresh, relevant, and accurate content.
- Leverage analytics to evaluate communication effectiveness and engagement over time.
- Stay informed on emerging communication technologies and digital marketing trends to keep SCRS competitive and relevant.
Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with industry media, influential voices, partners, and members.
- Enhance SCRS’ presence at trade shows, industry events, and collaborative meetings to enhance the association’s visibility and credibility.
- Manage vendor and media relationships, advertising opportunities, and communication budgets.
Leadership and Collaboration
- Work closely with association leadership and volunteer committees to align communications with organizational priorities.
- Manage and motivate external marketing and creative resources to deliver on communication goals.
- Serve as a key advisor on industry perception and outreach strategy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field, or at least 5 years of communications leadership experience within a nonprofit, trade association, or collision industry organization.
- Proven experience developing and executing integrated communications and marketing strategies.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated success in brand management, digital marketing, social media strategy, and content analytics.
- Strong project management and multitasking skills with a track record of delivering results.
- Highly collaborative approach, comfortable working with diverse stakeholders including leadership, staff, volunteers, sponsors, and media.
- Self-starter who thrives in a remote, independent work environment and enjoys building new initiatives.
- Experience in the collision repair or automotive industry is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Analytics, and modern communication tools.
Additional Details
Reports to: Executive Director
Works closely with: SCRS Chairman, administrative team, department leaders, volunteer committees and external solutions teams.
Travel: Occasional (quarterly) for events and meetings
Compensation: Competitive total compensation package with a salary range from $80,000 - $105,000 (commensurate with experience), full remote flexibility, 401(k) with employer match, healthcare reimbursement and PTO.
