As we expand our project portfolio for 2025, we are seeking a skilled Master Electrician to step into a Superintendent role and oversee traveling project teams.
Position Overview
The Traveling Master Electrician – Superintendent will lead field crews, manage project schedules, ensure code compliance, and oversee all on-site electrical activities. This role requires extensive travel, strong leadership skills, and expert-level electrical knowledge. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily field operations and direct electrical crews on commercial and industrial projects
- Ensure all work complies with NEC, state, and local electrical codes
- Coordinate project timelines, resources, and manpower to meet schedule expectations
- Conduct site inspections, troubleshoot complex electrical issues, and provide technical guidance
- Collaborate with project managers, general contractors, and clients to ensure smooth project execution
- Maintain accurate documentation including daily reports, safety logs, and material tracking
- Enforce company safety policies and lead jobsite safety meetings
- Train and mentor electricians and apprentices
- Travel to project locations as needed (company-paid travel and lodging)
Qualifications
- Valid Master Electrician License (any state; multi-state preferred)
- 8+ years of commercial/industrial electrical experience
- 3+ years in a foreman, lead, or superintendent role
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
- Strong knowledge of NEC and all relevant state/local code requirements
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel for extended periods
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Preferred Skills
- Experience with large-scale commercial or industrial builds
- OSHA 30 certification
- Experience supervising multi-state traveling crews
- Proficiency in project management software and digital reporting tools
