Gallery Assistant (Full-Time)Aicon is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Gallery Assistant to support the daily operations of our NoHo gallery. The GA serves as a welcoming presence for visitors, providing friendly and professional experiences for all guests. In addition to visitor relations, the GA will assist the directors and sales assistant on a variety of tasks. The GA needs to have a breadth of knowledge about modern and contemporary art, preferably with a special interest in South Asian art.Key Responsibilities:Open and close the public spaces of the gallery, Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am – 6pmWelcome all guests to the gallery, creating an engaging and inclusive experienceHave a thorough understanding of current and upcoming exhibitions, preparing checklists and other exhibition documentsMaintain the public areas of the galleryAnswer phones, direct inquiries, manage email correspondence, connect clients with staff Assist with sales inquiries and client visits in NY while the sales team is travelling for fairs Support gallery events and programming Press archiving and marketing assistance: the GA will take over responsibility for social media and e-newsletter E-file maintenance Conduct research on artists, artworks, and market information as needed Order and maintain office suppliesQualifications:Bachelor’s degree with 1+ years of related work experienceStrong administrative and organizational skillsHigh-degree of professionalism and discretionMust enjoy interacting with the public and have a friendly demeanorAbility to multitask and work independentlyProficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe programsExperience with database input and managementThis full-time role includes weekend hours and occasional evening events.Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, 10 am - 6 pmStart Date: Early January 2026About:At Aicon (www.aicon.art) we specialize in modern and contemporary non-Western art with a focus on South Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
