This full-time sales assistant role is based at our Upper East Side location, Tuesday - Saturday, 10am – 6pm, assisting senior sales staff, with extra responsibilities as needed for the general public, exhibition openings, special projects, and art fairs.Responsibilities and tasks include, but are not limited to:General gallery support, act as an initial point of contact in person and on the phone.Prepare materials and documents for sales offers, exhibition checklists, and viewings.Sales strategy and research working in close contact with Directors.Coordinate with fellow gallery staff all pre- and post-sales details.Perform research on artists, institutions, and individuals.Correspond and assist artists with guidance from liaison.Attend to various administrative tasks.Assist with expense reports, invoices, and budgets.Treat sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.Represent the gallery in a professional manner on the phone, in person, and via email.Help maintain overall appearance of general gallery spaces, as well as communal areas.Requirements:B.A./B.F.A and prior gallery experience essentialKnowledge and interest in post-war and contemporary art.Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and G Suite.Meticulous and detail-oriented approach to all tasks.Excellent command of written English and great communication skills.Ability to work gracefully under pressure and follow through with minimal supervision.Knowledge of Artlogic and content editing is a plus.
