Atlantic Theater Company, the award-winning Off-Broadway theater company and NAST-accredited acting school, seeks a Manager of Institutional Giving to join our Development team.The Manager of Institutional Giving will work closely with the Director of Development and Managing Director to develop strategies for growing corporate, foundation and government giving. They will have primary responsibility for writing proposals, submitting ongoing reports, and managing grant deadlines.Grant ApplicationsCarefully track and meet grant application and reporting deadlines. Submit drafts to Director of Development and Managing Director in a timely mannerWork with the Director of Development and Managing Director to identify specific major prospects and develop a strategic, long-term plan for cultivating and applying to new Funders. Involve Artistic Director and other staff members in these requests, as necessary.Confirm receipt of grant applications in a timely manner.Stay on top of expected gift/announcement dates and reach out to funders to follow up on proposals as necessary.Update General Operating proposals on a regular basis to reflect ongoing season activity.Institutional Cultivation and StewardshipServe as the primary point of contact for Institutional Funders. Work with Development Associate to make sure that Funders are regularly informed about Atlantic productions and programs. Send season notices, production booking notices, emails, etc.Check house seats lists regularly and keep track of when funders will be at the theater. Greet and leave notes as necessary. Involve Director of Development in these activities.Ability to work evening and weekend hours as needed.Work with the Director of Development to include Funders in cultivation events with artists and creative teams.Oversee Institutional Funder gift acknowledgement, personalizing as necessary and ensuring prompt receipts.Keep a careful eye on any major funder obligations and work with appropriate departments to make sure these obligations are met. For example, CAP ticket initiatives, number of students served in arts education programs, etc.Take Minutes at Board meetingsBudgetingDevelop program projections and use weekly development reports to monitor budget goals. Work with the Finance Manager to provide funders with accurate program budgets. Ensure that program budgets are presented in a strategic manner and take a proactive approach to addressing any potential budget concerns. QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experienceDetail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlinesAbility to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposalsFamiliarity with research techniques and knowledge of fundraising information sources for prospect researchAble to work well in a small team environmentAtlantic Theater Company is an equal opportunity employer.
