Nino Mier Gallery is a contemporary art gallery located in New York City and Brussels, representing emerging and established artists. We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and professional Assistant to the Gallery Director to join our team. This full-time position offers direct experience in gallery operations, client engagement, artist liaising, and administrative coordination.Reporting directly to the Gallery Director, the Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the gallery, managing front-of-house, and assisting with sales, exhibitions, and communications. This dynamic position offers room for growth and is ideal for someone passionate about contemporary art who is eager to build a career in the gallery world.ResponsibilitiesSales Support for DirectorAssist with all aspects of the sales process, including invoicing, shipping coordination, and payment follow-upsMaintain and update client records and sales databases (e.g., Artlogic)Manage calendar and scheduling for the DirectorAssist with sales research and preview communicationsTrack expenses and reconcile accountsPrepare client nominations for events and maintain related documentationArtist Liaison Support for DirectorAssist with artist communications and studio relationsKeep artist CVs and biographies up to dateMonitor and record artist press and public activityCoordinate artist visits, schedules, and logisticsFront of House / Administrative SupportServe as the first point of contact for visitors, artists, and clients, ensuring a warm and professional welcomeAnswer phones and general email inquiries in a courteous and efficient mannerMaintain the presentation of gallery and reception areas; prepare space and materials for openings and eventsEnsure exhibition materials (press releases, checklists, etc.) are available and up to dateTrack and record visitor numbersUpdate mailing lists and manage contact databasesAssist with updating the website and Artsy listingsProvide ad hoc project support and general office assistanceSupport the gallery team during events, private viewings, and art fairsQualificationsThe ideal candidate will have several, if not all, of the following qualifications:Bachelor\'s degree in Art History, Arts Administration, or related field1–2 years of relevant experience in a gallery, museum, or visual arts setting (internships considered)Strong interest in and knowledge of contemporary artProfessional, calm, and diplomatic demeanor, with excellent interpersonal skillsAbility to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work well under pressureExcellent written and verbal communication skillsMeticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skillsHigh level of proficiency with Mac OS, Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator, and gallery database software (Artlogic or similar)Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends for openings or special events as needed.
