About Pioneer Works Pioneer Works is an admission-free cultural center in Brooklyn, New York dedicated to experimentation, education, and production across the disciplines of art, science, music, and technology.Position DescriptionWe are seeking a Digital Content Coordinator to manage digital content across the institution\'s web, social, and email channels. Reporting to the Marketing & Communications Manager and working closely with all departments, this role will support the growth and development of Pioneer Works’ digital and in-person audiences. They will work closely with our marketing, design, programming, and editorial teams to oversee effective digital marketing strategies. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is familiar with both digital growth strategies and content creation within an arts and culture organization to increase attendance and engagement. This position works primarily on site at Pioneer Works, with in-person office work required and additional on-site presence for evening and weekend events as needed. We offer some flexibility in how staff balance in-office and remote work, while prioritizing on-site collaboration and participation in our public programs.ResponsibilitiesWork with the Marketing & Communications Manager to expand PW’s digital presence against established goals and objectives. Maintain a cohesive brand identity across digital channels based on the organization’s established style guidelines and design templates.Develop, create, write, edit, and post both organic and paid social media content to reach new audiences and increase brand awareness and engagement.Manage and execute website and ticketing page requests, collaborating with programming departments, copy-editors, and the Marketing & Communications Manager for approvals and delivery.Develop and maintain PW’s content calendar—which includes PW’s monthly newsletter, web, and social media content—with assistance from the marketing, editorial, and design departments.Support the promotion and marketing of Broadcast content on social media by working closely with the Deputy Managing Editor on social strategy.Collaborate and regularly meet with the Broadcast, Learn & Engage, Science, Publishing, Exhibition, Residency, Music, and Membership teams, as well as external partners, to develop institutional and programmatic storytelling, content, and updates for digital channels. Engage with digital audiences—respond to direct messages, comments, inquiries, and reviews on the Pioneers Works social media channels appropriately. Track, measure, and report on website, email, and social media performance on a regular basis. Coordinate the development of design assets cross-departmentally. Attend Pioneer Works events to capture content and share across social platforms.Assist with other departmental tasks as needed.Requirements2-3 years of experience in digital marketing, communications, press and media relations, or other relevant fields.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Thorough understanding of brand marketing, audience development, performance strategies, email marketing strategies, and associated KPIs.Excellent writing, proofreading, and internal communication skills.Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse set of audiences across departments and disciplines.Proven ability to multitask, project manage, and work independently & proactively, while effectively prioritizing in a fast-paced environment.Deep understanding of digital platforms (i.e. Mailchimp, Substack, Meta) and content management systems (i.e. Sanity), from functionality to advertising products.Ability to use marketing and analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Meta Business Suite, and Sprout Social. An interest in the arts and sciences. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically with Premiere Pro to produce vertical video content and Indesign to create social assets is not required, but a nice to have.
