Xela Institute of Art is looking for a museum assistant, one day a week - every Wednesday from 11-5pm Los Angeles time. The museum is located in Long Beach.This position would begin June 3, 2026.This position is ideal for an art historian who is interested in a once-a-week position long-term.Preferred candidates will be based in Los Angeles County.Requirements:Must have driver license and carComputer skills (Squarespace, Office Suite, Instagram)Knowledge of contemporary art worldGreat writings skillsArt History B.A. or M.A., master\'s degree preferredThis is a very writing-heavy position, and we are not looking for an artist to fill this roleWhat you’ll do:Creation of museum press release and catalogs for showsGrant writingAttend museum lunches and eventsMaintain websiteNo task is too small or too big!
