Atlantic – an award-winning Off-Broadway theater and NAST-accredited acting school – seeks a Development Associate. This position will report to the Director of Development and support the Development Department with all aspects of individual, corporate, government and institutional giving in sustaining and growing fundraising initiatives. The Development Associate is responsible for supporting fundraising activities by managing donor databases, coordinating cultivation and fundraising events, researching potential donors, crafting donor communication and managing acknowledgements.Overall, candidates will demonstrate:Exceptional attention to detail with high-level proofreading and editing abilities.An interest in philanthropy and developing innovative fundraising strategies.The ability to take a strategic and systemic approach to database management.The ability to identify prospects from the current database and research new prospects.A proactive approach to collaborating with other staff members to achieve goalsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of curiosity.Exemplary written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders.Highly organized and professional demeanor.Collaborative and energetic work style.Ability to manage concurrent multiple assignments, meet tight deadlines, and prioritize accordingly.The Development Associate will:Process all fundraising gifts in the Spektrix databaseDraft solicitation letters and acknowledgement lettersAcknowledge all individual gifts, process acknowledgement letters in a timely fashion, track donations and generate weekly donor reports in a timely fashion.Assist in stewardship efforts for current and prospective funders using Spektrix database management system.Manage Patron Ticket process, communicating On-sale dates, processing ticket requestsRelease Devo ticket holds 72 hours prior to performances.Conduct prospect research and assemble prospect and donor profile information.Run various lists in Spektrix for campaigns, events, eblasts, etc.Assist with preparations for events as needed including our opening nights, patron dinners, Annual Gala and other cultivation events. (Occasional nights and weekends are required with advance notice.) Requirements:Minimum two years of relevant work experience in fundraising, arts administration, or similar areas.Must be highly motivated and very organized.Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills – be friendly, personable, and outgoing. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities and projects at once, be detail-oriented and work well under deadline. Ability to establish effective working relationships with staff members, external vendors, and funders.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.Experience working with Spektrix or other CRM programs and financial data.Atlantic Theater Company is an equal opportunity employer.
