Swann Auction Galleries is seeking an Administrator for our Fine Art department. This is a full-time position, working closely with Specialists in all department functions, including consignments, catalogue production and auctions. This position requires, but is not limited to, managing consignment inquiries, scheduling client appointments, inventory management, exhibition planning and installation, art handling (including lifting heavy objects), condition report requests, and catalogue production. This role will also serve as the first point of contact (via calls, emails, and in-person appointments) for clients for the Fine Art department. As the administrator, they will be responsible for staffing all exhibitions on the Fine Art Gallery floor. This role is primarily in the Fine Art department but will work on interdepartmental sales tasks as needed. This role requires a detail-oriented, organized, and motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills and an appreciation for teamwork. The candidate must demonstrate constructive problem solving, excellent writing skills, quick follow-through, and the ability to manage various tasks in a hectic, fast-paced environment. All staff are expected to provide auction day support via online clerking, phone bidding and/or client assistance. Qualifications and Requirements: A minimum of an undergraduate degree in art history, fine arts or a related field. Excellent organizational, communication, visual and writing skills.Previous client facing experience a plus. Previous Auction House, Gallery or Museum experience a plus. M-F, 10am - 6pm Some Saturday exhibitions. This role is in office for the first 90 days. Hybrid/flexible work arrangements will be considered after 90 days, with up to one day per week remote allotted.
