OVERVIEW
Klocke Estate is a 160-acre soil-to-glass fruit farm, distillery, and hospitality venue just outside of Hudson NY. Klocke is a multi-dimensional business with operations including agriculture—grape vineyards and apple orchards—farm technology, production of wine, cider, brandy, eau de vie, and other spirits, a restaurant, private event space, and distillery.
The Junior Front of House Manager is a leadership position on the Hospitality team at Klocke Estate. This role reports to the General Manager and will work closely with the Klocke Estate Hospitality team. The Jr FOH Manager is responsible for managing day to day operations and ensuring superior guest experiences through a knowledgeable, thoughtful, and creative service team.
Manage overall guest experience:
● Lead by example, overseeing and leading service daily, ensuring all standards are being met
● Engage with guests & local community to ensure consistent and positive feedback from clientele (following-up/reaching-out as necessary), create ‘regulars’ to build repeat business
● Address guest inquiries, concerns and requests promptly
● Monitor service quality, taking action to resolve issues
● Identify opportunities for improvement in the guest experience and implement changes
● Manage reservation systems and seating inventory, ensuring appropriate pacing of reservations
Manage day-to-day operations:
● Complete administrative duties to support operational functions – guest & vendor correspondence, daily, weekly & monthly reporting, cash handling
● Maintain accurate printed food & beverage menus and POS programming
● Ensure all FOH operations are compliant with Department of Health regulations for sanitation
● Manage staff activities and schedules so that Klocke Estate remains compliant with all local, state & federal employment laws
● Collaborate with Hospitality team on planning & executing special events/programming
● Oversee & maintain physical spaces on the premises including guest-facing spaces, storage spaces, equipment, furnishings and service materials
Develop & support front of house service team:
● Foster and facilitate a positive & collaborative work environment for all team members
● Mentor all team members to fully understand & be able to communicate the core components of the Klocke Estate’s culture & vision
● Train all FOH team members, ensuring training SOPs are followed. Ensure excellence through necessary testing/quality control
● Develop standard operating procedures for the service team and ensure that daily responsibilities and job duties are being completed
● Other related assignments as necessary
Preferred Experience:
· 5+ years in high volume, fine dining and/or craft beverage-specific food & beverage operations
· Leadership or management experience. Highly organized with excellent attention to detail. Calm under pressure with strong problem-solving ability
· Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
