Job Summary
Home Sweet Hudson is seeking an experienced General Manager – Vacation Rental Operations to oversee all day-to-day operations across our Property Caretaking, Maintenance, and Customer Support departments. This role is responsible for ensuring luxury homes are consistently 5-star guest-ready, guests and homeowners receive exceptional service, and teams operate efficiently and accountably.
This position is ideal for a hands-on operational leader with 3+ years of General Manager experience in vacation rental management, hospitality, or hotel operations.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Management
- Oversee daily operations for:
- Property Caretaking & Maintenance
- Customer Support (Guest & Homeowner Services)
- Ensure properties meet luxury hospitality standards and are consistently guest-ready
- Act as the primary operational escalation point
- Lead by example and remain hands-on when needed
Team Leadership & Staffing
- Manage department leads, coordinators, and field teams
- Ensure teams are fully staffed to meet operational demand
- Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard team members
- Set expectations, delegate responsibilities, and hold teams accountable
- Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and training
Property Maintenance & Quality Control
- Oversee scheduling and execution of:
- Housekeeping services
- General maintenance and repairs
- Appliance service
- HVAC service
- Pool and hot tub maintenance
- Ensure quality assurance inspections, documentation, and photo verification are completed
- Reduce recurring maintenance issues through proactive oversight
Customer Support (Guest & Homeowner Experience)
- Oversee guest communication and issue resolution
- Manage homeowner communication, updates, and relationship management
- Ensure timely, professional, and consistent responses
- Handle escalated guest or homeowner concerns
Process Improvement & Performance
- Track KPIs related to operations, staffing, response times, and readiness
- Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements
- Ensure follow-through on operational initiatives
- Partner with ownership on scaling systems and operations
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years experience as a General Manager in:
- Vacation rental management
- Hotel operations
- Hospitality operations
- Proven experience managing multi-department teams
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with a high standard for quality
- Results-driven and growth-minded
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment

Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time position
- Salary: $62,000 – $75,000 per year
- Typical schedule: Sunday–Thursday (flexibility required)
- Holiday work required with floating holidays provided
