Aicon Contemporary is seeking a motivated, hands-on Gallery Intern to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is a hard worker, has a positive attitude, and is eager to learn all aspects of gallery operations, from art handling and exhibition support to administration and day-to-day gallery life.We are looking for a strong team player who is reliable, adaptable, and ready to step in wherever needed. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, understands the importance of care and precision, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities may include, but are not limited to:Assisting with data entry, cataloging, and maintaining inventory databases (Gallery Manager experience a plus; training provided)Supporting the safe handling, packing, unpacking, and transportation of artworksAssisting with exhibition installs and de-installsPhoto post production Supporting social media initiatives and basic design tasksRunning errands and assisting with general gallery upkeep • Helping maintain the gallery calendar and daily operationsQualificationsCurrently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Fine Arts, Photography, Museum Studies, or a related fieldStrong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learnComfortable working with hands and physical tasks; experience with art handling is a plusStretching canvas Light woodworking Detail-oriented and able to handle delicate, valuable artworks with careStrong organizational skills and ability to multitaskBasic familiarity with Adobe Creative SuiteComfortable working in Photoshop and InDesign Comfortable working as part of a team and taking directionScheduleCommitment of 2–3 days per weekGallery hours: Tuesday–Saturday, 10am–6pmSome flexibility required around installs, openings, and art fair preparationWhat You’ll GainHands-on experience in gallery operations and art handlingExposure to exhibitions, collectors, artists, and art fairsTraining in gallery systems such as Gallery Manager and ArtsyA deeper understanding of how a contemporary art gallery operatesOpportunity to grow within our team for the right candidate.
