James Fuentes is seeking a full-time Sales Director to lead our Los Angeles gallery. This is a senior-facing role suited to a confident, self-directed individual who is comfortable working independently in the space.The Sales Director will collaborate closely with the gallery’s senior leadership to achieve sales objectives, represent the gallery at art fairs and events, and serve as a key ambassador for the program in Los Angeles and internationally. The ideal candidate brings an established network of Los Angeles–based and international collectors, existing relationships with artists, and a demonstrated ability to cultivate new client and artist relationships.Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Client Development - Work with the gallery’s senior team to meet and exceed sales goals - Maintain and grow relationships with established collectors and institutional relationships - Support artist relations and contribute to long-term artist development - Represent the gallery at art fairs, openings, and industry eventsExhibitions & Project Management - Sourcing and curating exhibitions that expand the gallery’s program and presence in Los Angeles - Support the Registrar in scheduling and coordinating exhibition logistics with artists’ studios, including organize opening receptions, events, and dinners - Ensure clear communication between departments and gallery locations; act as an intermediary to disseminate key information - Schedule and manage contracted staff such as photographers, bartenders, and maintenance personnel - Oversee facilities management, including upkeep, IT and phone systems, security, and outgoing shipmentsQualificationsMinimum of 5 years’ experience in a gallery, auction house, or as a private dealerStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently while collaborating with a broader teamProficiency in Artlogic is preferred but not requiredCompensationBase salary $80,000-$100,000 commensurate with experience.
