Scribble Art Workshop is a developmentally-based art program for all ages. Our mission is to build creativity as a life skill that will serve our students beyond the art studio. Our goal is to empower every individual who enters our studio to become an artist who possesses the capability to make an impact through art-making. We are a growing company and currently have studios in Upper Manhattan, Dobbs Ferry, and Boulder, CO with over 50 satellite classes in partnering schools and community organizations in the tristate area and Colorado. We are looking for studio manager who will work in our Uptown Manhattan Studio, who is committed to art education and wishes to join a dynamic learning community. For the summer, hours will be full time (8:30am-3:30pm M-F) and then fall hours will lower to around 20-25 hours per week. These hours can be supplemented with teaching hours. Position will ideally begin during the last week of May. All Staff at Scribble:Nurture our students as they explore the process of art-making and learn to develop their own perspective and approach.Encourage artists to explore art-making through experimentation by creating a safe space where making “mistakes” is celebrated.Take personal responsibility and work collaboratively to ensure growth as a team.Understand that the performance and progress of our students is under our control. Every success and failure is a reflection of our efforts.Ask questions and empower our artists by pushing them outside of their comfort zones.Proactively seek and incorporate feedback to our programming.Emphasize the importance of community building inside and outside the studio.Position Responsibilities: A Scribble Studio Manager creates an inviting and controlled environment at the studio, enabling teachers to focus on student learning and families to experience our philosophy within the studio space. The studio manager is responsible for promoting studio programming, maintaining the standards of studio organization and cleanliness, managing the studio teachers and staff, overseeing all programming and engaging with customers. As Studio Manager, you will be reporting to the Program Director on a weekly basis and in daily communication with the rest of our management staff.Job Duties:Oversee all drop in programming within the studio.Oversee day-to-day upkeep of the art studio and work with teachers to hold them -accountable for cleanliness and organization.Communicate with teachers about supply needs and place orders adhering to a budget.Promote all programming in established and new creative ways to grow enrollment.Manage staff by building relationships to create a team culture within the studio.Hold staff accountable for promptness, lesson preparations, and clean up.Seek to understand and meet expectations of clients.Correspond with clients by returning phone calls and engaging with all studio visitors.Complete daily accounting in a timely fashion.Execute in-studio initiatives as directed by the Program Director.Participate in monthly teacher trainings.Gain a full knowledge of the Scribble philosophy and be able to communicate the importance of our art programming to parents.Position Qualifications:A commitment to the Scribble mission, vision and values.Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.Experience managing and developing individuals preferred.Experience working with children preferred.
