About the Role:
We’re looking for a dependable, energetic, and nurturing Lead Teacher to guide our 3 year olds in a structured yet fun learning environment. Our center offers a supportive curriculum framework while still giving teachers creative freedom to plan lessons and themes that inspire and engage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create weekly lesson plans which are tailored to the developmental needs of children in the daycare setting.
- Prepare all activity materials in advance—naptime is used for project prep.
- Implement developmentally appropriate activities in art, creative play, fine motor skills, writing, math, and science.
- Follow classroom schedules to ensure timely transitions for bathroom breaks, snacks, outdoor play, and learning activities.
- Actively engage with children during projects and play—guide their efforts and make learning fun.
- Collaborate with assistant teachers—assign tasks and work as a team to “divide and conquer” classroom responsibilities which will enhance educational programs and share best practices.
- Keep the classroom clean and sanitized: disinfect toys, clean surfaces, sweep, mop, and wipe down walls daily.
- Closely supervise children, ensuring safety both indoors and outdoors. Stay actively engaged and visually present at all times.
- Handle snacks and classroom supplies responsibly; clean and return unused items.
- Log daily reports and updates in Brightwheel, including health checks, attendance, diaper changes, nap times, meals, and parent communication.
- Be available to answer parent questions and provide updates about their child’s day.
Additional Afternoon Office Responsibilities:
In the afternoons, the Lead Teacher will transition out of the classroom to provide administrative and operational support. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with parent communication, including end-of-day updates and addressing questions or concerns.
- Helping with parent pickups by ensuring children are signed out safely and transitions run smoothly.
- Supporting building cleanliness by cleaning common areas and helping maintain an organized, sanitary center environment.
- Monitoring classroom ratios throughout the building; adjusting staffing as needed and sending additional staff home when numbers decrease.
- Ensuring state regulations and center policies are consistently followed throughout the day.
- Providing general office assistance and stepping in where needed to support overall center operations.
Who We’re Looking For:
- A reliable, trustworthy individual with a passion for early childhood education.
- Someone with exceptional patience, especially when working with children who may display behavioral challenges.
