The FinOps Project Manager drives cloud cost transparency, optimization, and delivery across Finance, Product, Engineering, and Business teams. This role blends technical program management, agile execution, and cloud financial accountability to ensure cloud spend aligns with business priorities.
Title: FinOps Project Manager (FPM)
- Hours: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, US Eastern Time (preferred)
- Duration: 12 month initial contract
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead planning and delivery of FinOps and cloud cost initiatives
- Track and report cloud financial KPIs (budget, forecasts, tagging, anomalies, cost per workload)
- Own cloud cost visibility using tools like AWS Cost Explorer and Cloudability
- Identify and drive cloud cost optimization and automation opportunities
- Partner cross-functionally to embed FinOps recommendations into roadmaps and backlogs
- Manage agile execution: backlogs, sprints, Jira hygiene, dashboards, and reporting
- Facilitate team ceremonies, leadership updates, and continuous process improvement
Required Experience:
- 5+ years in technical program, project management, or product ownership (FinOps or engineering teams)
- Hands-on experience with cloud financial tools (AWS Cost Explorer, Cloudability)
- Strong Agile/Scrum and Jira/Confluence experience
- Working knowledge of AWS services, billing, and cost optimization techniques
- Strong analytical skills; Excel and/or SQL preferred
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Nice to Have:
- Experience within a FinOps practice
- AWS Cloud Practitioner or FinOps certification
- Multi-cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI)
Pay: $45.00 - $57.00 per hour
